Our shop environment includes me, (the bookseller), Bill, (who works around vintage wooden boats), Fred, (the cat), and Strider, (the dog). Fred is a book loving cat who is fond of sneaking into the shop and hiding in the stacks. He promptly gets shooed out. Strider is named after the Ranger in the Tolkien trilogy Lord of the Rings. He chased after two deer that just finished drinking from our pond. Bill says that since the deer sighting was not corroborated, he is withholding judgment on the nature of our wildlife. As summer continues on, we will be indulging both our passions for vintage books and vintage wooden boats, as we travel on the American Power Boat Association's Vintage and Historic Division exhibition circuit.
