The Book Habit is a Family Owned business. We have been selling books for nearly 40 years;first as Giant Book Store in Southern California, and now, The Book Habit for the last 22 years. We have an inventory well over 180,000 books, which include vast selections in Americana, Classic Literature, Drama, Cooking And Children's books ... just to name a few. Recently, we have devoted 5% of our selling space to used Vinyl Records that include mostly: Pop/Rock, Classical, Easy listening, Jazz, and Country genres, but a few off-the-wall gems pop up from time to time. Two floors of books connected by a spiral staircase, the location has provided Salem with a book-browser's ambiance like none other. For the seasoned book collector; a nice relief from musty odors and dank books, and for the avid book lover...eye candy central. We are open 7 days a week excluding most national holidays 10:30 - 5:30 M - F, 10:30 - 6:00 Sat, 12 - 5 Sun
We are a bit difficult to find as our store front doesn't face the street. We are located in the Pringle Park Plaza and the store is on the corner of Liberty and Mill Streets slightly below street level. Currently, there is 1 hr parking on Liberty. Parking at ground level (via Mill St.) within the plaza is, at times, limited. There is also metered parking in the parking structure within the plaza. Parking is not enforced on Sat or Sun.
